Dear friends in Christ,

As I hope you have been able to read about in the past few week's bulletins, the merger process between St. Aloysius, St. Mary's, and St. Camillus is moving ahead at great speed.   This is not a process of destroying the great parishes that we currently have...   Divine Mercy Parish Registration Form Divine Mercy Parish Registration Form

here at St. Aloysius and St. Mary. The Diocese has seen it necessary to make this shift in organization of the parishes of the Diocese due to the shortage of priests. What the Diocese wants, and what we all want, is that everyone be sufficiently attended to by the fewer number of priests (yet growing) that the Diocese has available.

And so, our new, combined parish is something that we don't have control over, it needs to be done, and even though there will be some letting go to do, we all need to open our hearts to the new reality with which we are faced: Divine Mercy Parish. We must still celebrate the history of St. Aloysius, and also that of St. Mary's. But at the same time, let us look ahead with love at our new parish. So, some pain at letting go, yet great joy at what is to come.

And so I now would like to invite each and every one of you to sign up as a member of Divine Mercy Parish. Because it is a new parish, we need every single person/family to sign up. Even though you know you are already signed up as a member of one parish or another, we need you to sign up as a member of Divine Mercy.

You may ask why we are asking you to register if Divine Mercy Parish does not exist. The reason is that it is all coming together, and we hope to constituted as the new parish in April 2010. And, God willing, we should be able to celebrate our first parish feast day on Divine Mercy Sunday. For this reason, we need to collect all the data so that when we truly become Divine Mercy Parish, our parishioner roster will be in place.

So, please pick up your registration packet from the lobby of the church this weekend, and take a few minutes to fill it out. Go ahead and invite others who are not currently members of our parish, yet attending St. Aloysius to join our soon-to-be Divine Mercy Parish.

Q. Who should pick up a registration packet?

A. EVERYONE. We ask ALL currently registered parishioners of St. Aloysius to pick up a packet, and ANYONE who wishes to register as a member of Divine Mercy Parish. There are blank packets for those who are not currently registered as parishioners at St. Aloysius.

As I always say, don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have, or to ask for any clarification you may need.

God bless you,

            Fr. Jared
